TAGUIG CITY, Philippines – Single conversation can lead to a lot of things. As Friday evening traffic crawled across Metro Manila, that kind of movement was taking place inside Restaurant 101 at Enderun Colleges.
Conversations flowed over cocktails, introductions turned into exchanges of ideas, and strangers found common ground through a shared appreciation for language, culture, and lifelong learning.
Last July 31, Enderun Extension welcomed representatives from embassies, corporate organizations, educational institutions, and language communities for a Networking Night. It was a gathering designed not around formal presentations, but around the simple act of bringing people together and, well, starting a single “hi.”
Guests were greeted with welcome cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and pastries before settling into conversations. Throughout the evening, the focus remained on creating an environment where meaningful dialogue could flourish naturally, expand their networks and all while discovering opportunities for future collaboration.
Opening the event was Loida Flojo, Vice President for Enderun Extension, the lifelong learning arm of Enderun Colleges.

Flojo emphasized that learning does not end after graduation or with a first job. Instead, she said, it continues throughout one’s career through new experiences, relationships, and collaborations. More importantly, she reminded attendees that meaningful partnerships are rarely built through formal agreements alone.
“It starts with dialogue,” Flojo said. “It starts with small talk. It starts with conversations.”
Those conversations became the heart of the evening, with guests exchanging stories, perspectives, and experiences in a setting intentionally designed to encourage authentic connections rather than transactional networking.
For Jack Tuason, Founder of Enderun Colleges, that spirit of openness reflects the institution’s broader educational philosophy.

Tuason shared that some of the most valuable lessons come not from textbooks, but from engaging with different cultures and experiencing the world firsthand.
“I really believe in the advantages of working with different cultures, learning [from them], and traveling,” he said. “It really does add a lot of knowledge you cannot find in books.”
He explained that this belief has shaped Enderun’s approach to education, from recruiting faculty with international experience to encouraging students to pursue both local and overseas internships as part of their academic journey, taking pride with the tagline “we are citizens of the world.”
He added that Enderun remains committed to building long-term collaborations that create value for partners and communities alike, opening its doors to future initiatives that encourage learning beyond the classroom.
As the evening progressed, conversations continued.
