Course Description

Enderun Extension in partnership with Philippine M.I.C.E Academy offers the Professional Events Management (PEM) program. This program intends to bridge the requirements of the industry to enable the practitioners and professionals to be globally competitive and academically prepared for professional events and similar ventures.

The Professional Events Management program has 5 courses/modules:

  1. Strategic Planning
  2. Event Design
  3. Stakeholder, Staff, and Volunteer Management
  4. Event Marketing
  5. Risk Management, Financial Administration, and Site Management
Strategic Planning
Strategic Planning is one of the five courses of the Professional Events Management Program. This course introduces the Event Management Body of Knowledge, the Project Management Body of Knowledge, the steps in strategic planning, event principles, policies, procedures, event operation, and standards in professional event management. It also presents the key elements in the business of Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Conventions, Exhibitions, and Events. At the end of this course, attendees will create and present a strategic and sustainable plan for M.I.C.E.
Event Design
Event Design is one of the five courses of the Professional Events Management Program. This course deals with the fundamentals of event design beginning with the process of identifying client needs and preferences, research design options, and the design elements that match the event goals and objectives. It introduces the attendees to the design phase of the event management process using internal and external team members.
Stakeholder, Staff, and Volunteer Management
Stakeholder, Staff, and Volunteer Management is one of the five courses of the Professional Events Management Program. This course launches the attendees to the identification, categorization, and management of stakeholders. It also unpacks the requirements in crafting the selection criteria for human resources and the best practices in managing teams.
Event Marketing
Event Marketing is one of the five courses of the Professional Events Management Program. This course examines how to successfully manage events, determine marketing strategies that are essential to successful selling, and compare promotional methods and their effectiveness for a specific target audience. Participants learn to create a comprehensive marketing and sponsorship plan.
Risk Management, Financial Administration, and Site Management
Risk Management, Financial Administration, and Site Management is one of the five courses of the Professional Events Management Program. The course builds up the participants’ skills in financial administration and risk management. It prepares participants to forecast risks; conceptualize, implement, monitor, and evaluate the prospective risks in an event; as well as manage effectively the site infrastructure and logistics plan. The course also includes designing security and emergency response plans.

Open Enrollment

Learners have the liberty to choose when to start threading their project management learning journey. The door to enrollment is open year round.

Asynchronous Learning

Students study the modules and other learning materials on Matrix Learning Management System (LMS) at their own pace within 6 months.

Synchronous Sessions

The Professional Events Management program has 3 synchronous sessions which are held every other month. The online class will be held via Zoom for an hour. It is the students responsibility to reach out to the instructor and catch up with any missed sessions.

Mentorship

1 hour/student via Zoom

The mentorship program allows learners to receive reviews and recommendations regarding their final output. It will also be an avenue where they can comfortably seek advice regarding challenges at their workplace and career advancement and learn best practices in designing and managing events.

The mentor’s schedule for a one-on-one session will be posted on Matrix. Students will choose a date and time based on the availability of the mentor. Then, a confirmation email will be sent. The student is expected to meet his/her mentor as scheduled. Should there be any cancellation, the student must notify via email.

Course Duration

3 months/course(module) *If the student cannot fulfill the requirements within the prescribed period, access to LMS may be extended to a month and he/she should be able to submit all the requirements, (if not the student will have to retake the course).

1. What are the prerequisites of the course?
A College degree
2. I do not have any experience in events management. Am I qualified to take the course?
Yes, you do not need any events management experience, but having some is a definite bonus.
3. Will the classes be online?
Yes, online synchronous classes will be held via Zoom. Asynchronous sessions will also be online via Matrix Learning Management System
4. If I miss a class, will there be any make up classes?
We do not offer any make up classes, but you can request for a class recording.
5. Does the Professional Events Management program have a certification exam?
Yes, you must complete all five courses of the program within 18 months to be eligible to take the Certified Meetings Professional (CMP) certification exam.
6. Does the CMP examination have additional fees?
Yes. Processing and payment will be through PhilMICE Academy.
